Whether you’re visiting relatives or taking an off-season coastal break during the Christmas holidays, you’ll find loads of things to do in Cromer and surrounding areas to get you in the seasonal spirit
Here are our seven suggestions how to have a magical Christmas in Cromer in 2025:
1. Catch the Cromer Pier Christmas Show
A short walk from the Sandcliff lies Cromer’s world famous Victorian pier, where you can get swept up in the nostalgia of the seasonal Christmas Show from November 15th November until December 28th.

2. Ride a North Norfolk Railway Special Christmas Train
Whether you’re a family looking to visit Santa or an adult group keen to enjoy some mince pies and mulled wine, North Norfolk Railway‘s seasonal offerings have got you covered from mid-November onwards. Trains depart from Sheringham’s traditional station, which is a short fifteen-minute drive, bus or train ride away from the Sandcliff.
3. Join the Singing at Felbrigg Hall
This year’s Carols in the Courtyard – an annual tradition – kicks off at 2.30pm on December 21st at Felbrigg Hall. It’s a perfect location to listen (or singalong) to traditional carols performed by the Cromer and Sheringham Brass Band. Arrive early to secure your spot! Felbrigg is a short 10-minute drive from Sandcliff or, if you’re feeling energetic, you can walk there in about an hour.

4. Watch Cromer Get Lit Up with Christmas Lights
Join the Cromer community for the official Christmas lights switch on at 4pm on December 6th in the courtyard of the church right in the heart of town. It’s a great way to mark the beginning of the season and be part of this wonderful tradition that illuminates Cromer!
5. Enjoy a Christmas Meal at a Cromer Restaurant
From a Christmas Afternoon Tea at the Old Rock Shop Bistro to a delicious two or three-course Christmas meal at our neighbours – the Cliftonville – Cromer has certainly got plenty of options for a Christmassy meal. Jump over to this Sandcliff blog to see more of our general restaurant recommendations, many of which offer a Christmas meal during the month of December.
6. Step into a Winter Wonderland at the Christmas Tree Festival
Between December 1st and 6th, from 10am-4pm, Cromer’s Parish Church hosts the Christmas Tree Festival – a free display of beautifully decorated Christmas trees and wreaths by the local community.

7. Embrace the Festive Spirit at the Christmas Fayre
Don’t miss the Christmas Fayre on December 6th from 10am-5pm inside Cromer’s Parish Hall. Featuring stalls with unique seasonal gifts, snacks and drinks, it’s an ideal way to feel the spirit of the Christmas. Also, Santa will be present in his cosy grotto, where children can share their Christmas wishes.
